NECK CARE

Many women often neglect the skin of the neck when caring for facial skin. In the mirror, they keep their eyes focussed on their face and hair, while their necks remain in the shadows. However, when meeting others, that is not the case as the neck is often on display. We must also take into account clothing fashion, where often the exposed neck and the physiognomy of the face merge into one. The skin of the neck is sensitive, thinner, and exposed to constant creases. Therefore, it is no wonder that the first signs of aging appear on the neck. It is the neck, together with the hands and eyelids, that display the first visible signs of aging. The skin on the neck is much thinner than on other parts of the body, and it also contains fewer sebaceous glands, so it dries easier and is more wrinkle-prone.

The neck is composed of complex muscles that relax with aging and the omission of appropriate exercises, so the skin loses its elasticity and firmness. Loose neck skin can be hereditary or the result of major weight changes. Just like the face and hands, the neck is almost always exposed to the weather – sun, wind and cold, all of which accelerate the aging process.

The neck requires the same type of care as the face: cleansing, moisturizing scrub and cream. The usage of high pillows should be avoided, and the neck washed with cold water. As for creams, they are usually applied to the face, but there are special creams for the neck and décolletage. The preparations are most often enriched with selected plant extracts, vitamins, fruit acids, collagen and elastin, and in some cases, the combined action of several of these ingredients.
